Background

This was a reactive piece of work to another colleague's video interpretation, which was a rework of a flowchart graphic. Snippets of the flowcharts were added into a slideshow and exported as a video. I took this opportunity to create an explainer animation video to illustrate each of the steps required to become an appointed company with SWPA.

Project

The flowchart had 9 steps which I re-packaged into 3 simple steps as a strategic approach to maintain viewer's attention, as the notion of learning something new in 3 simple steps will increase a viewer's longevity of watching to the end of the animation. I greatly reduced the full sentences to shorter, more concise lines read out by a voice narrator, so it is easier to follow along with the subtitles without the need to

read the text.

A text-to-speech narrator was used to help aid the viewer following along the yellow text. Less focus on the text meant more attention can be placed on the visual animations and workflow.

Midway through the animation, the background would transition into a purple backdrop to
re-capture the viewer's attention because it is a large cross fade into a new scene.

The visual animation of each step was represented through simple icons and timed with the AI narrator so that it is easy to follow and straight-forward to understand.

Original flowchart

This was the 9 step process flowchart which was re-designed and re-packaged into a "3 step" short 1 minute 23 second explainer video.

Creating a visual animation for the video brought the flowchart to life and much more engaging for the viewer to follow by slowly feeding information into bitesize, manageable chunks through motion graphics.
